Private Lessons

We know that private one-on-one instruction with a well trained teacher provides students the an excellent opportunity to progress at their own pace and receive the optimum learning experience.

In a private lesson teachers can focus on what will help the particular student progress the on what the student wants to learn in particular.  They are not held back by others if they are excelling and they receive extra attention if the concepts are difficult.  Private students move at their pace of learning.

We offer 30, 45, and 1 hour lessons according to the development of the student.

We offer lessons to fully develop your love of music on piano, piano keyboard, acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, voice, violin, cello, string bass, trumpet, clarinet, sax, flute, and percussion.

We can teach almost any musical styles you are interested in including Classical, Pop, Broadway, Jazz, and much more.

We take an interest in every facet of your experience with us and are here to help and to guide our students to success.  We want our students to thoroughly enjoy their musical learning experience so that they will enjoy playing for all of their life.

It doesn't matter how advanced you are or if you are looking for beginner lessons, we can help you succeed.

We carefully select our teachers based on their experience, personality, and music education.  All our teachers have been trained in University.  Most have their Bachelor's degree and some have a Master's degree.  We are focused on matching the student with the right teacher so that the "chemistry" works.  If we don't get the "chemistry" right at first, we will work with you until we get the "right" one.

Piano and Keyboard

Our schools offer piano and keyboard lessons for students of all ages and abilities from beginners to very advanced students. Whether you have a child age 4 or you are 74, we can provide excellent instruction for you to learn every style of music available.

We have students who learn to play just for fun and students - young and old - who excel with the Royal Conservatory or Conservatory Canada curriculum. We have several piano teachers on staff and are able to match students with a teacher that works best for their interests and abilities.

We start piano students at age 5 and up and the occasional one at 4.  You may take either private one-on-one instruction with lessons of 30 minutes or 1 hour or group lessons with no more than 5 in a class for a period of 45 minutes.  While both children and adults enjoy the group classes it seems it is those over 50 that have the most fun in the group classes.

Parents are welcome to sit in on classes whether private or group at any time.

Voice

We have many students taking voice lessons.  Students may learn all kinds of music from Pop to Opera.  Teachers have a university degree in their specialty or extensive professional performance.  Classes cover the fundamentals of voice production and expand into increasing the student's range, projection, and stage presence.  At least twice each year students have opportunities to perform in our own recitals as well as preparation for any other project the student has in mind, including exams and festivals, if desired.

Guitar Lessons

We provice both private and group guitar lessons for acoustic, electric, and bass guitar.  Our guitar teaching staff can teach you anything from rock to jazz, salsa to classical, country to pop.  Our teachers have university or college degrees and know the proper theory and techniques you need to learn.  We suggest that students not take guitar until at least age 8 because of hand size and strength needed in their fingers to press the strings.

Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, & Tuba Lessons

Students for these instruments usually need to be 9 or older because of the lung capacity needed and big enough to hold the instrument in the case of the Tuba.  Our university trained teachers can help students enhance their skills for their school band program or develop advanced skills to become soloists and prepare for university.

Violin, Fiddle, Viola, and Cello Lessons

We offer private instruction in violin, viola or cello.  Private violin lessons start as young as age 5.  Cello lessons start at 10 years of age or older.  We offer the Suzuki Violin program, the Royal Conservatory violin program and we offer fiddle lessons.  We have students of all ages from children to adults.  We encourage parents to sit in on the lessons for younger children to help the student at home with things such as posture and hand positioning.  We supplement our private violin, viola and cello lessons with fun ensembles or fiddling groups that play in our recitals.   Our violin, viola and cello teachers usually have university or college degrees in their instrument and many perform regularly with local orchestras or bands.

Flute, Clarinet, and Saxophone Lessons

Our private flute lessons generally start at age 8 and older.  We have both male and female flute instructors and as with all our instruments, the teachers have university or college degrees in woodwinds. Earlier than age 8, a student typically does not have the lung capacity and strength to handle these instruments.  Our saxophone and clarinet instructors are proficient on both instruments so a student can start with saxophone, which is a little easier to play than clarinet and if they wish they can switch to clarinet lessons without having to change instructors.

Drum Lessons

We recommend that you do not start drum lessons before age 8 as students need to be able to reach both the pedal and the high hat.  Certainly younger students can play the drums, but parents need to aware that younger than 8 can only be for fun - physical size is very limiting.  It is not necessary to purchase a drum set at first.  Drum lessons are taught on a drum set in the studio but students are able to get started practicing at home on practice pads. For more information on drum lessons you may visit The Drum Studio here.

Whatever your choice, try us - we don't think you can find better teachers anywhere.
